WOYWW #360

Good morning fellow deskers!  We are being hosted by Julia at Stamping Ground and you get all the details there on her blog.

Bella went to the groomers this week and when she came home she was terribly tired because she doesn't get to nap while she is away.  I wanted to get a quick photograph because she is always just so cute when she comes home.  So this is what is on my workdesk...literally!

A quick picture of Bella lying in a chair.  right after I snapped this photo, she was down for the count.

Well that does it for me this week.  The garden and yard are still calling my name and there is still a ton of work to be done but little by little it is coming along. Not much crafting going on at present, but work comes first and then play.
Now I'm off to visit some of the desks and see what is going on in your world!

Iris in Bloom...

Springtime has come to East Tennessee and all around us nature is coming alive and showing many beautiful colors.  I love this time of year but there is a lot of work involved and it seems each year it takes longer and longer to get it all done!

Out of all the flowers and all the colors, I think the lovely Iris is my most favorite. Blooming in Spring they sport many beautiful colors and a wonderful fragrance to delight your senses.  These are the first blooms to come forth and I'm so happy to see their lacy beards!  Everywhere I go where there are Iris growing, I'm always begging for a little root to get a start.

That's it for me this morning.  I hope you get to spend time today doing what you love!

WOYWW #359

Good morning everyone.  I'm afraid I've been sort of missing in action lately. There is always so very much to do in the Spring and the older I get the longer it takes me.  I'm still working on planting a few flowers and of course my vegetable garden so I'm afraid I will be running in and out for a bit longer so please be kind!

If you are wondering why I'm showing you a photo of my desk this morning it's because there is a world wide blog hop going on over at Julia Dunnit's blog.  You can visit her blog and get the details there.  There isn't a lot going on in my craft room lately but being outside takes most of my day.  I'm beginning to feel like I need a "fix"!

That's it for me this morning.  I'm off to link up at Julia's blog and then visit a few of the participating blogs before it is time for me to start my day.

Missing in Action.....

Good morning everyone.  I'm just running through this morning to let you know I'm still here even though I've been missing in action lately.  It's Spring in East Tennessee and with that comes lots of work in the yard and in the garden.  I've been plowing through like a over the hill power ranger but there is just so much to do.  I'm afraid I've neglected my faithful followers and I just need to let you know I'm still here.

I still have not finished my latest mini album but I still love each page I've finished.  The fold out has a little pocket with lace and bling on a string and the full page has a corner element which serves as a pocket as well.  It isn't showing here but I did add some glitter along the flowers for just a hint of sparkle. ( I always wear glitter in my eyebrows)

Well I'm not sure when I will be back through...but please don't go far.  I truly enjoy your friendship and will definitely be back soon.  Today I'm planting green beans and potatoes in my garden.  I already planted cabbage and a few tomatoes. Next will be peppers and squash.  I love watching veggies grow in my garden. This afternoon I need to mow so my day will be crammed full of little chores!

Just Saying Hello....

Every now and then we need a card to just say "hello" and I've been thinking about you.  This morning I'm sharing just such a card!

This is another fine example of my photography skills!  (Not)  The butterfly looks like I had a very heavy hand with the glitter but in fact in real life it is more subtle.  The pretty Heartfelt Creations paper does all the heavy lifting and a simple sentiment helps carry the load.  This card can be mailed using one stamp and all is right with the world.

Now I'm off to enjoy the rest of my coffee as I begin a hard day of yard work. Spring is coming to these parts and along with comes mounds of yard work and grass cutting...and so it begins!

Purple and Green.....

Good Friday morning everyone.  I'm just running through this morning to share card I have made to put into my box for the nursing home.  I got a new Spellbinders die this week and I just had to feature it along with my Heartfelt Creations papers, flowers, papers and leaves.  Boy that was a mouth full!

I realize I've been MIA a lot lately and I promise to do better now.  Life has just gotten in the way.  It's Springtime and lots of yard work and it's time to plant the vegetable garden and I almost need to cut grass twice a week.  It has turned cold here for the last few days and it has slowed things down a bit so I've had a moment to "breathe".

I just noticed that the sentiment looks a little tilted but in real life it looks great. I have a thing about purple and green and I took white prills and ran them over an ink pad with my finger and then into a tray to dry.  I used the Bundled sage to color the prills as well as the center of the flowers and the seam binding.  These techniques really utilize your supplies.  I'm all about using things for different purposes!

This close up of the flowers shows how delicate the petals are and some of the detail in the Spellbinders die.  Can you see the string of hot glue?  I used hot glue to glue down the bow and flowers.

Well this does it for me this morning.  Hope you have a great weekend!

April Craft Hoarders Hop

Good morning everyone!  I'm here to share another Craft Hoarders project with you as I strive to use up lots of hoarded items I have sitting in my closet of shame.

I used the Blazing Poppy paper collection from Heartfelt Creations and the flowers, leaves and butterflies have been made up and sitting in a container in my closet for awhile now. They are from a mini album I made last year I also used old Spellbinders Dies from long ago to add some layers to the card.  I also made the envelope.

You should be coming here from Karen Zueger's blog.  After visiting me, hop over to Teresa Horner's Blog.  To start at the beginning of the hop, go back to Gloria's Blog!  Please follow along the hop for lots of inspiration!
