I Remember.......

I just love this image, but I'm not sure I like what I did with it.  On one hand it seems a little plain and on the other hand it is just a busy card.  But the idea here is that my baby sister had a doll she played with that looked alot like this image.  I remember thinking, it would have been nice to have something this life like and pretty to play with when I actually played with dolls.  My dolls were usually the standard plain Jane, run of the mill dolls.  But by the time my sister came along, it was a whole other ball game.  My Mom sewed gorgeous dresses and night gowns and even underwear for these little dolls.  Which doll was your favorite?  Did you have clothes to fit her?

Well the weekend is almost here.  Do you have great plans?  We are under the gun for more sever storms in the area today and this evening.  I plan to just keep my head down and try and stay out of trouble!

Have a great weekend and remember, wherever you are and whatever you are doing....take a moment and "Breathe"!

Glenda ,this is a stunning card and the colouring is just perfect. At least you had a doll, I never had a doll at all as a child. Hugs Rita xxx

This is absolutely gorgeous, Glenda! You've colored this wonderful image so beautifully! I love the DP and the pretty lace and the lovely flowers! I had a few dolls but it was my beat-up old Thumbelina doll that was my favorite. She didn't have any special clothes. My Mom did sew clothes for my Barbie and friends dolls. Have a nice weekend!

Oh, your card is perfect just the way it is! I had some barbies but I think my favorite doll would be Raggedy Ann. I must admit, I'd rather be outside playing baseball with the guys - or doing cartwheels across the lawn.

Stay safe from the storms!

Hugs,
Kay

I think your card is lovely! You did a great job. I had a baby doll named Sugar Plum that I could not live without! My mom sewed all sorts of clothes for her. About a year ago I got her from my parents' home, and gave her to one of my best friends' little girl. Hope she cherishes her as much as I did.

This card is just right, not too fussy and not too bare, Glenda! Hope your day has finished up with a good nights sleep and the weather has calmed down. Have a good Saturday!

what a sweet image and I love the flower touch on it. My favorite doll was a Raggedy Anne doll that I dragged around until it was ...well raggedy. Have a great weekend. Pat

I didn't have dolls that pretty to play with, the closest to that would be my Madame Alexander dolls that were "suppose" to stay up on the shelf and not be played with ( big wink )...lol Your card is simply gorgeous! waving hi from the windy hills of North Carolina :)

Such a sweet and beautiful vintage image. I love what you did with it. I think it's just right. My mom used to sew doll clothes for me and my favorite Christmas gift would always be a box of new clothes for my Barbies. As an adult, I tried to do the same thing for my niece, but didn't get very far before I gave up in frustration. Those clothes are so tiny! Only then did I really appreciate my mom's patience and handiwork.
