Fall Leaves....

Good morning everyone.  In case you forgot, it's Friday!  The weekend is just around the corner and all is right with my world!  This morning I'm here to share another card I have made.  I love making Fall cards and this little cutie is just perfect to grace the front of my card.

I colored her with Ranger distress inks and a brush and mounted her on a doily.  The rest is Spellbinders dies and designer paper.  The leaves began as plain white card stock from Wal Mart and I used the inks to color them.  Pretty easy once the image is colored.  This little cutie will be going to the nursing home so that patient can have a card to give when someone does them a kindness.

Well I hope you have wonderful plans for the weekend.  This old broad will be hanging out close to home doing her thing.  We are expecting rain so I will be playing indoors!  Not a bad thing.  Whatever you wind up doing and no matter where you are, take a moment and "Breathe"!

Card Size: 6” X 6”
Cut card base out of water color paper for stability.  Cut a piece of white cardstock 3 ½” X 6” and run it through embossing machine with folder.  Adhere to the top of card base.  Cut out the lace border and adhere it with glue over the top of the embossed piece to cover the rest of the card base.   Cut two different sizes of the labels dies and use pop dots to adhere them together then use glue to adhere to card base.  Next I stamped the sentiment and used the die to cut it out and then I slid the tag across the edge of my desk to make it bow a little.  I then glued it to the bottom of the labels dies.  Next I cut out the foliage dies and swirls and added color where needed.  Just a soft touch because I wanted this to be basically all white.  I stamped the rose onto white card stock and cut out using scissors because I needed the center to be solid so I could glue it.  Shape the edges of the petals and glue the layers together to form the rose.  Position the foliage elements and swirls under the rose and glue everything to the card base.

Cut base card and set aside.  Cut corresponding layering pieces and adhere to base card.  Next I cut out the border die and glued it behind the music sheet.  Cut fancy oval from watercolor paper and ink the edges to give it aged look.  Glue this to the card.  I cut the ornament out of burgundy cardstock and used a gold leafing pen to edge it.  Next I cut an oval of green cardstock and one from the music paper and glued them together.  I used the gold leaving pen on the green also.  I cut corner pieces out of the dies and hooked them over the ovals and glued them together.  I stamped the sentiment onto another piece of watercolor paper and edged it with distress ink also.  Attach this piece to the top of music paper.  Attach your ornament to the fancy oval and apply the bling and you are all set.

September Morn

Good morning everyone!  I have had a busy weekend and didn't get to play in my craft room...at all!  It's OK, I got a lot of things finished and off my To-Do List and enjoyed some welcomed visitors on Sunday.  So this morning all I have to show you is part of the view from my back porch!  I love it when the temps start coming down and the fog lies in the hollows and everything has a quiet peaceful feel to it.  This was taken early one morning last week just after daybreak.  As you can see I live in a rural setting and barns are a regular sight.  The fence in the foreground is the back of my lot and the pile of wood is the way my escape artist gets out and chases varmits!  So we had to fence the fence to keep him in.  Hopefully this wood will be burned this winter!  But we have learned he will get out anyway..two weeks ago he chewed and clawed his way through the chain link between our yard and the neighbors yard.  What kind of dog chews chain link?  A very focused one!

So there you have it for me this morning.  No card, but hopefully you enjoy this photo as much as I do.  This time of year just speaks to me and even though things are dying, the coolness and beauty just make it a very pleasant time for me.

I hope you have a good day and remember take a moment and "Breathe"!

Clean and Simple.....

Good morning everyone!  Welcome to my little corner of the world!  Do you ever just want a simple little card to have in your stash just in case?  You know, just in case you need a thank you card, or a thinking of you card.  Well MoJo has taken a road trip and I'm just cooling my heels waiting for her and decided to do just a simple card.

I used my Pro Markers to color this image and set it up on a white background with a Spellbinders die under that...then a simple purple layer and a white base card.  Next I took the purple marker that I used on the flowers and colored a piece of seam binding, tied a simple bow and that's it!  How easy is that?  I'm forever more needing little thinking of you cards and now I have one more that is all ready to go.  All I have to do is write inside and send it on it's way.

That's it for me today...if you see MoJo out there, tell her it's time to come home!  Have a wonderful Friday and enjoy your weekend!  I hope you find time to be creative!

WOYWW #172

Each week Julia Dunnit hosts a party on her blog for crafters all over the world.  Just take a picture of your desk and post it to your blog, then you go to her blog Stamping Ground and link back to your blog.  The idea is you can visit all the blogs listed there and see what everyone is doing.  I have been doing this for some time now and have become quite addicted!  I love visiting as many blogs as I can each week to see what everyone has going on in their world.  There are crafters of every degree and every category so you are sure to find something that appeals to you.  So join us; become one of the addicted ones!

I have to tell you I'm pretty impressed at how neat my desk really is today.  I've been doing quite a bit of re-organizing and putting things away and yes.....cleaning.   There were so many dust bunnies running around in there that I was actually beginning to wheeze!

I'm coloring a cute little Magnolia stamp with my Distress re-inkers and I finally found a box to put my Pro-Markers in.  I really need a good storage idea for these markers.  This will do  in a rush, but is not quite what I had in mind.  I'm still learning to color with them so for now it's still my inks and a brush.

Well that's about it for me this morning.  I'm off to visit as many of you as I can.  I'm afraid I just don't have time to make it to everyone.  I really wish I could manage to do this at least once before my poor fingers give out and my eyes no longer can see all the wonderful goodness you are posting!

Have a great day!

A Christmas Tag.....

Good morning everyone!  Welcome to a rainy Monday here in East Tennessee.  We welcome the rain because we are getting very dry.  This morning I'm here to share with you a Christmas tag I made using my Heartfelt Creations stamps.

Pretty neat, huh?  And below is a close up of the flower. If you look very close, you can see the stamping done on the flower.  When I sprayed it with shimmer spray, it sort of covered the stamping.

For this tag I used HCPC 3428 Script Christmas Tree PreCut Set and the HCPC 3415 Petite Poinsettia PreCut Set.

I stamped the images and then cut out.  Once this was done, I shaped the petals and sprayed them with shimmer spray.  When it was dry I glued all the pieces together to make the beautiful flower.  A gold pearl to the center is just the finishing touch.  I cut out a Spellbinders die and ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss dots embossing folder. My ribbon is just some seam binding that I always have on hand.  This tag was  inspired by a tag made by Linda Duke.  I have followed Linda for years; in fact she is one of the first two artists I  began my blogging life with.  The other was Sherry Cheever.  Sherry has always inspired me to add a little grunge to my elegant!

So there you have it.  My new favorite Christmas tag and my two favorite artists.  I hope your Monday is a good one.  What's that old Song...Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down.

My New Favorite Halloween Tag.....

Can you believe that Saturday has rolled around again.  It seems like the weeks are flying by and before you know it, the snow will be flying.  But before we get into the snow, I want to share a tag I made for Halloween.  I just love making tags; they are such little treasures!  There is almost as much  work in them as a card but they are just little works of art.  You can write a message on the back and slip them into a gift bag or they can be the gift itself.  So you see they are very useful!

I used some corner dies I had, painted black and then edged with Rub-N-Buff.  The birds are Tim Holtz and the little owls are from a piece of designer paper I have.  The clock is a Tim Holtz Stamp that I embossed in black and then cut out with a circle die.  Just layer a different color under the clock and it is ready to go.  The flower is some pre-made flowers I have that I spritzed with shimmer sprays.  How's that for quick and easy?

OK I am off to get my day started.  Have a great weekend!

A Holiday Card.....

As you can see, I can't make up my mind if I want to do Christmas or Halloween!  Today it's Christmas and I also have a Halloween Tag I will be sharing next!  So for today ... Christmas.  This is a card I made using Heartfelt Creations stamps.  I love these two sets and use them quite often.  HCPC 3309 Faith Heb. 11:1 PreCut Set and HCPC 3432 Magnificent spruce Trees PreCut Set.  Of course Spellbinders dies and pretty ribbon.  also embossed the large tree for part of the background.  You know, I just noticed, it looks like I might have gotten my background paper upside down!  Wonder if anyone else will notice?

Well people, we are well on our way to another wonderful weekend.  Do you have amazing plans?  As for me, no plans, just hanging out and maybe a little crafting!  What could be better than that?
Have a great day

WOYWW #171

Each Wednesday Julia Dunnit hosts a party for all us messy crafters out there!  We take a picture of our desk post it to our blog and then link it to Julia's blog.  Then we can all visit each other and take a look at desks all over the world.  Pretty neat huh?  I thought so.

Last week I posted some pictures of my craft room after I'd been doing some re-arranging.  Everyone wanted me to open the doors on the big door chest and show you my dirty little secret!  Well you asked for it ... you got it!

When I opened these doors to take a photo, I was actually pretty surprised it's not in worse shape than it is.  The top shelf has all kinds of "stuff".  There is wax paper, seran wrap, spray paint, a hammer...every girl needs a hammer, candles, Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel, glitter and the list just goes on and on.  Second shelf has three drawer units with card stock, cutting tools, etc.  The boxes on top house finished cards as well as cards that my crafty friends have sent me.  Also to your far left is a box of ribbon.  It's a shoe box in reality but works nicely for storing ribbon.  Next shelf is more card stock and papers and bottles of color sprays .  The bottom shelf has everything else.  There are some storage boxes with stamps, stuff to be altered, some pearls and goodies in little containers and a whole stack of Cd's, mostly from the programs for my computer and new Cd's to store files onto.

So there you have it...my dirty little secret!  Now show me yours!  OK...now that we have that behind us, I'm going to go visit some of the girls and see what they have going on!

Haloween Tag....

Good morning everyone...Monday was a train wreck for me!  Have you ever had those days when everything seemed to be all wrong and it was just one crazy thing after another?  Well that was my Monday.  We have a rescue dog that likes to break out of the chain link fence and go hunting.  Well he dug a hole and tore into the chain link and escaped again.  How does a dog tear up chain link?  So from here on out when it comes time to bed down he will be put inside another enclosure and I'm hoping that will deter him from anymore break outs!  I'm almost afraid to go outside this morning and look.

Anyway, I'm here to share a Halloween tag I have made to send to a friend.  I love Halloween but don't decorate anymore.  My decorating is on a much smaller scale with cards and tags.  So I hope you enjoy this one.

OK, I'm off to get ready to face my day.  Wish me luck that this day is a better one!  Have a very creative day everyone!

More Beautiful Roses.....

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are up and ready to face another Monday.  I want to share with you another card I have made.  This is a SU image I have had for awhile and have been playing with.  For some reason every time I ink this stamp, something happens and I never finish it, until this time.  I have used pencils, markers and finally distress inks as I experimented with this image.  I love it and finally decided the distress inks were the way for me.  I love green and pink together and  think these roses make a pretty nice card.

So thank you Sylvia, my cyber friend, for encouraging me to finally finish this piece and share it with my followers!

OK everyone, go get your second cup of coffee and let's get this day started!  The temps are cooling down here and the mornings have that crisp Fall feeling to them.  The days are in the 70's and 80's and you can just feel the seasons changing.  Have a wonderful Monday and no matter where you find yourself or what you wind up doing today, just remember to take a moment and Breathe!

My Altered Chest....

Good morning everyone!  I want to share a work-in-progress with you this morning.  I can't quite decide if I declare this finished or not.

I've been working on this for a few days and sometimes you just need to step back and give it a rest.  From here I could keep going and going and adding and adding but sometimes less is more.  I kind of like it just the way it is.  I'm going to sit this one to the side and let it rest for a couple of days and see how I feel about it after the weekend.

Well that's it for me this morning.  Have a wonderful day no matter where you are or what you get into, take a moment and breathe!

WOYWW 170

Each week Julia Dunnit hosts this wonderful, crazy get together of crafters from all over the world!  We all take pictures of our workdesk and blog about it and then link to her blog.  Then we can all go visit each other and have good old fashioned snoop!  I am quite addicted and find I spend a huge part of my Wednesday having a good look around.  I fudged a little bit...I took my pictures yesterday afternoon and the light coming through the windows was crazy.  So please forgive the odd lighting of my photos.  I've been doing some re-arranging of my space and decided to show some of my space this week.  I'm almost there and find that I can actually breathe again in my room.  I still need to do some more organizing and right now I'm looking for everything I need, but I can actually see some floor space again.  So big drum roll please:

I'm working on an altered box and these pieces will be incorporated into the design.  I will be adding rub-n-buff metalics to hopefully make them look old and rusty.

Now on to the expanded pictures of my room:  Notice the floor... Also my big white cabinet...full of supplies.  Next week I might just open those doors and give you a shock!

I think I filled that closet nicely!  If you look closely you can see Maggie and Abby in their beds!  It's a dirty job, but somebody has got to do it.    Well I hope I haven't made this too long.  I just really wanted to let you see what I have going on today.  I'm stirring up dust and finding things I forgot I had.  It's a good thing!

Happy Labor Day.....

Good morning everyone and Happy Labor Day.  Today marks the end of summer and we must now start looking toward Fall and Winter.  I will welcome the cooler temperatures and look forward to having more time for playing in my craft room.  There is always so much yard work and outdoor activities during the summer that I start to crave a little time to just sit and play!

This morning I'm sharing a card I have made using some of my Heartfelt Creations stamps.

I love these stamps and decided it was time to bring some of them back out into the open again.
The image is from HCPC 3451 Going to the Chapel PreCut Set and the sentiment is from HCPC 3450 Cross and Lilies PreCut Set.  I used my Ranger Distress inks to color the image and some pretty Spellbinders dies to frame them.  A little piece of pretty lace and some pretty paper and your card is all ready to go.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I have loved making it.

I hope your holiday is a good one and please be safe whatever you do.
