Craft Room - Storage Ideas......

Good morning everyone and welcome.  I'm here this morning as part of the Craft Hoarders design team and to share with you some of my craft room storage.  All year long when a month had a fifth Monday, some of the design team would be here sharing photos of their space and ways they handle storage in their rooms. So here are some of mine.

My closet of shame.  My husband was given the two doors and he built the cabinet from there.  I love it because it holds so much and allows me to just close the doors when I want the room to look nice.  The jars on the top hold buttons.  I don't use buttons often but they are ready when I am.

This is where I store a lot of my design papers, extra supplies, some flowers some candles and things I plan to alter.  My Cuttlebug is in there and  anything else I might need and not have a place for.  If I have lost anything this is where I go first!  Clearly it could hid something for a very long time before I would find it!

Next is my cutting station that is on feet to raise it to standing working height.  I work here a lot when my poor back gives out and gives me lots of trouble.

Next comes the storage for my dies.....  I'm sure there is probably a better way to store these, but this is what works for me.  I use dies on most everything I do and to have them within reach is a big factor for me. I'm ashamed to say, this isn't all my dies but these are the one's I've used most often.  I have some that are no longer current and some that have the edge dies that don't fit any of my cases.  I also have some Sizzix Dies that I use as well, so you see dies are a passion.  I'm constantly trying to find places that have the best prices so I can purchase more.
You can also see my small light tent there in the corner with blue cardstock as a background.

These are my most used ink pads I just slide this under my desk and it is close and ready to go.  I am a huge fan of Ranger Distress Inks for most everything I do and I use Memento Ink when I don't want it to smudge. It stays put no matter what process you are using.

I also like to keep my sponges for each color ready to go.  It keeps you from always having to wash and wear out the sponges.  This is something I have just started doing so a lot of the sponges are still clean.   This way the colors stay in their own little area and are always ready to go.

So there you have it.  Nothing fancy but it is very functional.  I would love to have all white furniture but the fact is, like most crafters, I have to make do with what I have.  Mostly I love my space and I don't fret too much about the fact there are white pieces and cherry pieces.  It's all good!

Wonderful storage areas, Glenda, I love that your sponges have their own little places. Mine are stored in a jar...I keep them washed...so the ones in the jar are clean! but your idea is a good one! Have a lovely Monday!

Hi Glenda. One of the things I plan to do this week is get my craft stuff organized. I've moved and shifted so many times! I love the cabinet your husband made for the shutter doors. I honestly didn't notice that your furniture didn't match until you mentioned it! I've bought some wire things at the thrift store and spray painted them the same color. I like your die storage - are those cd cases?

Hi Glenda, thanks for sharing. I love the idea of one big cupboard with doors you can close to hide all the little bits. I work better without clutter around my desk as a rule :) Not that I'm doing much at the moment except packing stuff into boxes ready to move. Love seeing all your beautiful creations and hope 2015 will be a great year for you. x

I love your storage ideas and I really don't care if the furniture coordinates or not as long as it is functional and yours looks fantastic! I am trying to get all my stuff packed up again and am taking over the top part of my husband's work shed so the room I use now can be converted to a baby room for my great grandson so maybe I can get organized as I get moved in (or out). I marvel at your organization and your creativeness!! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and looking forward to the new year.

Hi Glenda, love the tip for the sponges. I have only just changed my storage for my inks..my DH made a storage cabinet for me, this is now the answer to my dilemma. I also have a passion for dies. Great organization! As always, I enjoyed my visit to your place. Inky hugs.

The tip for the sponges is brilliant! I have mine all tossed in a drawer, but this is a much better solution. I loved seeing the spot where you create such beauty! Hugs!

I don't know what I love the most - the die storage or the fact that your sponges are so organized! Thanks for sharing your space. I love the closet of shame. I now have TWO and a half of those....yipes!

Don't we all have one of those Closets of Shame? I sure do! It's always fun and interesting to see someone else's craft space. I have so much stuff it's ridiculous, but there's a method to my madness. Oh,the papers and inks and stamps and dies and embellies and tools... the list goes on and on!

Glenda, thank you for sharing your workspace with us! I am particularly impressed with the number of Distress Inks you have, and how you have stored your sponges. Genius and oh-so-convenient! Mine are in those tiny craft zip lock bags, labeled, of course, but I have to look through a pile of them and then unzip each bag. I'm going to steal your fantastic idea. Think of all the time I'd save for CRAFTING! I'm very envious of all the space the neatness of your closet of shame...in fact my craft room IS my Closet (of shame).
