June Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop

Good morning everyone!  Well here we are again at the end of another month and I'm here to be a part of another Alumni Design Team Blog Hop for Heartfelt Creations!  I always love to be a part of these blog hops because I love being with the past designers of Heartfelt Creations and believe me there is some awesome talent here!

There will be a $25 gift certificate for one lucky person.  You must visit as many of the participating designers and leave a comment on each blog because we never know from which blog the winner will be chosen.

This month I decided to make a tag using the Blazing Poppies stamps and dies that I just received!  I love these flowers and they were such fun to color and shape.  I started out with white card stock and used Ranger Distress inks to color my flower petals.  (Barn Door and Orange Marmalade)  I put black seed beads for the center of my flower and I love the finished product.  My little tag was cut out of my Blazing Poppy paper pad and that is about all I had the nerve to cut away.  I still need to hold it, flip through the gorgeous pages and just hoard it for a bit before I actually use any of it!  I colored seam binding to match the flower and I love how it turned out!

You have until Midnight, July 3rd. to leave a comment on as many of our blogs as you can.  The winner of the $25 gift certificate will be announced on Saturday July 4th.  Good luck to everyone!

A New Size Format For Me.....

Good morning everyone and welcome to my corner of the world!  I spent the day yesterday resting with my feet up.  With yard and garden and every day chores, my life is quite frantic sometimes and the wind just went out of my sails. It was nice to spend the day chilling with my girls (Maggie and Bella).

I have been seeing a lot of 8 X 8 cards out there and love the idea of them and decided to try one to see how I felt about it.  Well I think I love them!

There is a lot of real estate here and I love the larger format.  It gives you lots of room to do all kinds of things.  I kept this one sort of simple but the possibilities are endless!  I used some pretty design paper and a Sue Wilson edge die called Perseus from the Gemini collection.  A few layers some seam binding and a few more flowers and this one is all set.  I will probably purchase some 11 X 17 white paper so I can make envelopes to accommodate these.  I could do a box if I would want to be sure my pretty scrunched bow stays in good condition.  Look at me, I'm almost scrapbooking!

I'm working on my video for my mini-album using the Raindrops on Roses paper collection from Heartfelt Creations.  That will be coming soon so stay tuned.
Also be sure and come back tomorrow as that is the day we do the Heartfelt Creations Alumni blog hop.  I have something pretty to share with you!

Well that does it for me this morning.  Hope you have a good day and that you get to do something you love!

The Sisterhood of Crafters New Challenge - Wedding Time of Year...

Good morning everyone and welcome to a brand new challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters!  ("Wedding")  Make a wedding card or project. I did a wedding explosion box!

This was a total labor of love. The wedding colors are navy blue and lavender and it was difficult to find ink colors to match the color of flowers I needed but this was very close.  I made handmade roses and leaves using Heartfelt Creations stamps and dies and Spellbinders Foliage dies. I suspended the silver rings on a wire so they are always standing ready to be viewed.  This is to be a gift containing money for the bride and what better way to celebrate than to pop off the top of this box and be greeted by these pretty flowers and rings.  I'm hoping this will become a keepsake for the bride and that she will have it for many years.

This is a photo close-up of the top of the box.  This light actually shows the color of the flowers better than the others.  They were a pretty lavender color and
The side of the lid had some modeling paste stenciled on to add another touch of  texture.

These boxes take a bit of time but at the end of the day, they are well worth the extra effort!  Now get busy and make a card or project for a wedding and link to: The Sisterhood of Crafters!  I can't wait to see what you make!

My box was inspired by two friends of mine...Olga Jewell and Selma Stevenson. Both these ladies did beautiful explosion boxes that just took my breathe away!

I'm entering my project in the following challenges:
All Crafts Challenge - Anything but a card.
Craft Your Passion - Anything Goes
Not Just Cards Challenge - Always Anything Goes

Supply List:
Navy Blue and White Cardstock
Homemade Modeling Paste
The Crafters Workshop stencil (Mini Birds on a Limb)
Ranger Distress Inks
Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose stamp
Heartfelt Creations Botanical Wings die
silver rings
suspension wire
hot glue
Spellbinders Foliage and Flourish Trim

WOYWW #316

Good morning everyone and welcome to Wednesday and What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday # 316.  Those of you not sure about what this is, just head over to Julia's blog by following the link above and she has all the instructions listed there.  Each Wednesday, we all get together and take photos of our space and then blog about it.  After that, we link to Julia's blog and then visit each other to see what we having going on.  I love getting to visit these blogs and there are so many different crafty things going on that you are sure to find something that gets your attention!

I have had so much going on outside, I've had very little time indoors.  We have been hot and I can only work 1/2 days outside but when I come inside, I'm totally wiped out!  So I stand by my motto...A little here and a little there!  I have been playing a bit with my new Sue Wilson dies and this one I think is beautiful!
It is Perseus from her Gemini collection.  I cut it out and have been putting different colors with it to see how I want to use it.  The red petals at the top left corner are from making Poppy flowers a few days ago.  Right above my coffee mug is the bling on a string that is my new best friend.  I love that stuff and have been putting it on everything.  I'm like a little kid with a new crayon...the more you use it, the better it is!

Well that does it for me this morning.  I'm off to visit as many of your blogs as possible.

Blazing Poppy Flowers....

We have been so hot lately that these bright and vibrant flowers from Heartfelt Creations are just speaking to me!  Every month I have a new "Favorite Flower" from HC. These were so much fun to play with and shape to make such pretty poppy flowers! I guess I will always be a Heartfelt Creations girl at heart!  I started with white cardstock and colored with Barn Door and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks.  The sparkle on the edges is just a bit of  Crystal Stickles.

I have also been buying a few of the Sue Wilson edge dies and trying to use them on my cards. I love the unique designs and the beautiful large sizes.  This one is Carina from the Gemini Dies collection!  Love it!

Well that does it for me this morning!  Hope you are ready for this brand new week and that you have lots of great plans!  As for me, there will be lots of yard work and playing catch up after the rain.  Yes, we have had wonderful rain in these parts and my garden has breathed a sigh of relief! Take care my friends and remember to "Breathe"!

WOYWW #315

Good morning everyone and welcome to Wednesday!  This is the day we take a photo of what is going on in our world and blog about it, then link our post to Julia's blog so we can visit each other!  It is a world wide blog hop! So much fun and very addictive!

Just received my new stamp and dies from Heartfelt Creations (Blazing Poppy)  I also purchased the pretty papers and I'm not sure where I put that but it's close by for sure.  The white tube next to the dies is Wink of Stella by Zig!  Love that stuff...it adds just a pretty splash of glitter to a project!  The papers in the background are from Heartfelt Creations as well.  The bottle with the yellow cap is white glue.  I use it for everything!

I have just started a new mini album using the Birds and Blooms paper collection from Heartfelt Creations.  I made the pretty bluebird and butterfly as well as the flower.  I just love the sweet little banner at the top!  This page holds tags behind the lace! I made all the butterflies, blue birds and flowers for this mini album.  I get such satisfaction using things I made myself instead of store bought.  Now don't get me wrong, I do use store bought items now and then but if I have the time, I love making things myself.

Well that does it for me this morning!  I'm off to visit as many of you as I can this morning!

A Birthday Card.....

In my never ending quest for birthday cards, I'm here again this Monday morning to share another card I have made to go into my box for birthdays!
We are so hot for our part of the country and I will just stay indoors and play some more today.  No outside work other than to water a small bit but it doesn't do much good when it's this hot.  98 degrees forecast for today!  Man that's hot!

I have been seeing this fold in several places on the Internet and I just had to give it a try.  I followed the video Dawn at DAWN5377 for the dimensions for the folds and cuts.  Dawn is a very talented Stampin-Up demonstrator and I love her many videos!  This is called a Fancy Fold Corner Card and I love the way it all works!  Just a perfect birthday greeting for someone near and dear!

Well that is it for me this morning.  Hope you have a great day and are able to stay cool and remember to "Breathe"!

Oldie For Friday.....

Good morning everyone and welcome to my little corner of the world.  Come on in and share a cup of your favorite beverage and lets visit a spell!  It's time for Oldie For Friday started by Erica at:  Snappy Crafts.  Just find something you made a while ago and share it with us.  It is a fun way to share some of your favorite projects and it gives people a chance to see how far you have come in your crafting experience!

This card was made awhile ago but I still love the die cuts I used to create the window to the  pretty paper behind.  I just love the blue rose and the way I squished the petals.  I still use that technique today because  I love the character it gives to the rose!  I think it takes the flower to a whole new level!

It has been pretty hot in my part of the world and very little rain!  We have been pushing 90 degrees and when it gets that hot I just wilt!  We always have a bit of a hot spell in June and then July cools back down to seasonal temps.  Here's hoping that is the case this year!

The weekend is upon us and I'm hoping  you have lots of fun plans!  No matter what you wind up doing, take a  moment just for you and "Breathe"!

The Sisterhood of Crafters New Challenge - Going Buggy

Good morning everyone and welcome to a brand new challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters!  This challenge is "Going Buggy"  Using some kind of bug as the focal point.  Now I'm not usually one to be afraid of bugs because I had a brother; but I'm not especially fond of them for sure!  But I find little ladybugs to be just my style!

I love sunflowers and little ladybugs do too!  I found some sunny yellow paper and used my new Sue Wilson edge die to lay a foundation for these pretty sunflowers from Heartfelt Creations.  The little ladybugs came in the collection and I just love them.  The yellows, greens, oranges and the red of the ladybugs just make me very happy.  Now get busy and create something with a bug as the focal point and then link at The Sisterhood of Crafters. I look forward to seeing what you come up with.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
Always Something Creative...Anything Goes
Crafty Hazelnuts : Anything goes as long as it is patterned paper.

A Quick Hello

Good Monday morning everyone and welcome to my little corner of the world.  I'm here this morning for a quick post of my latest card.

I have been busy with a project that I'm not allowed to show just yet and I needed a quick card to show you this morning so I got busy and this is what I came up with.  I used more of the pretty Burst of Splendor papers from Heartfelt Creations, some Spellbinders dies, some lace and bling and it's all ready to go out the door.  My photo for some reason makes the lace look like it is on a little side ways but it is straight when you look at it in person.  It doesn't show up but there are three layers of oval dies holding the pretty spray of flowers.  I used the Elegant Oval Dies and Classic Ovals Large dies to achieve this look.

Well that does it for me this morning.  Hope you are ready to face the adventures of the week.  No matter where you are or what you wind up doing remember to "Breathe"!

Friday Morning......

Here we are into June already and suddenly I feel like I have missed the whole of Spring!  Where did it all go?  Did I keep my head down working so hard that I didn't notice?  Sometimes I get so focused on what I have to do (Planting veggies, flowers and mowing grass ) that I completely forget to look up and enjoy the beauty of a season.

I'm here this morning to share another card I made for you....just because!

I used Spellbinders dies and Heartfelt Creations papers and butterflies to make this card.  A little glitter and a little love and it is ready to go out the door.  The little butterflies are some I made and the paper is from the Raindrops on Roses collection.  I just fell in love with this paper! I sprinkled a little glitter along the edges of the dies for just a little sparkle and called it a day.

Well we are coming up on another weekend.  Hope you have wonderful plans and enjoy the time!

WOYWW #313

Good morning everyone and welcome to Wednesday and another edition of WOYWW (Whats on Your Workdesk? Wednesday #--).  If you are curious about this just head over to Julia's blog (she is the creator of this blog hop) and she has all the details there!  Come join us, we would love to have you be one of us!

I'm getting ready to make a mini album using the Heartfelt Creations Birds and Blooms  paper collection and I'm making flowers and butterfliles and little blue birds to decorate the various pages of the album!  It's a process of love and I have been busy for a few days doing this because I don't have a lot of time to play.

Each morning a do a little bit as I go through on my way to my life and little by little they are coming right along.  These sweet butterflies are all finished now and ready to go into the container; they have had their glossy accents added and they have been glittered and now they are dry.  Next I will work on finishing the pretty flowers I have cut out, colored and just need to be shaped.  If I was able to work more than a short time I could get these finished straight away.

We have had a whole day of rain showers and my garden is sighing as the roots pull in the wonderful liquid.  Everything already looks more green and lush.  We were getting so dry and I was really beginning to worry that I might start losing plants.  I was watering but I don't think that does much...not like a real shower when the clouds gather and shade the earth and then the rain comes and there are no chemicals in that and it all comes together and gives the plants a wonderful drink.  I am doing my happy dance!

Well that does it for me this morning.  I'm off to visit as many of the participating blogs as I can before I have to move along to other things this morning.  Happy WOYWW everyone!

Burst of Splendor......

Good morning everyone!  I'm here to share a card I made using Heartfelt Creations Burst of Splendor paper collection.  That and a few Spellbinders dies do all the heavy lifting of this card.  Not a handmade flower or bow anywhere in sight.  I love it when that happens.  The colors of this collection are just so rich and vibrant and as you can see the flowers are just gorgeous!

A little bling on a roll and hot glue and it's all ready to go out the door!  Thanks Heartfelt Creations for this beautiful collection!

We have been so dry in my part of the state and received just a trace of rain in June.  Yesterday I had a shower here and my garden is so grateful!  I could almost hear the plants sigh as the raindrops fell.  This time of year I pray for rain; some hate rainy days but not me.  The gardener in me is so happy when those dark clouds gather!  Hope your day is a good one!
